MAXXIS tire High Road SL [Gen.2] 700 x 28C HYPR-S K2 TR
The High Road SL is a first-class road bike tire for competition that impresses with its extremely low weight and outstanding performance. The new generation of the High Road SL scores with 25% less rolling resistance, a 10% reduction in weight and a 10% improvement in puncture protection. Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no inner tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other tubeless ready tires. The bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a layer of rubber, just like a real UST tubeless tire. This means that tubeless mounting is successful on all rims with standard dimensions right from the first inflation and with little liquid. Normal MAXXIS MTB tires can also be mounted tubeless with sealant, just like tires from other manufacturers, as the carcass fabric is very tight. However, only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless mounting and guaranteed by MAXXIS. Tubeless mounting of other models is at your own risk.
Note: We strongly advise against the use of sealant containing ammonia. Ammonia has been proven to attack the carcass and can weaken it by up to 30% after just a few months, depending on the amount used.
HYPR-S Compound
Based on the success of the HYPR compound, which was first used in the High Road tire, the new HYPR-S compound delivers outstanding grip and reduces rolling resistance by an additional 12% compared to the HYPR compound.
KEVLAR® COMPOSITE K2
This fabric is manufactured exclusively for MAXXIS. It offers more puncture protection than normal Kevlar and Vectran. The light and supple K2 ensures unsurpassed performance and convincing handling of the tire.
Carbon bead core
For TR (Tubeless Ready) road bike tires: Carbon is just as flexible as aramid, but significantly more robust. It ensures that these high-pressure tires sit securely on the rim even without a tube.
