Gelu Carbon Creation was brought to life in 2013 by Anghel Ivanof. Anghel has more than 20 years of experience in processing composite materials. It all started in the early 1990s with the manufacture and repair of carbon components for e.g. B. Speedboats, canoes and surfboards.
After an excursion into aviation technology, which began in 1999, in 2005 it was time to apply the knowledge gained for the production of high-quality bicycle parts. The first prototype of a carbon saddle saw the light of day in 2006.
Thanks to the close collaboration with an orthopedic surgeon, an engineer and some of the best Portuguese athletes, a product has been developed step by step that also meets the needs of the best athletes.
With the Combo K, Gelu has a completely new approach to implementing "combos" of saddle and seat post. Instead of rigidly laminating all parts together, a special connection between saddle and support was constructed, which does not require a saddle frame and still allows an adjustment at the angle and approx. 20 mm in length. This is made possible by the unique fastening, with screw heads specially made for this saddle, they are countersunk in the saddle channel in order to contribute to a clean look as inconspicuously as possible.
