With the Edge Explore you can discover new routes and always stay connected. The user-friendly GPS bike computer includes a pre-installed bike map on which you can see routes popular with cyclists. A number of online functions are supported so that you can keep in touch with other cyclists as well as with family and friends at home. The Edge Explore is the perfect partner for tours and adventures.
Ready to go
You won't lose any time with the Edge Explore. Setting up the bike computer is easy and you can use it for tours right out of the box. If you can see the necessary navigation instructions at a glance, you will not miss the great view. The Edge Explore was therefore equipped with a 3-inch display that is bright and easy to read - in sunlight, on cloudy days and even in the rain. The touchscreen is quick and effective to use with or without gloves.
Towards adventure
With the Edge Explore you can lose yourself in your adventure without losing your way. The bike map is preinstalled and guides you to almost all destinations - from streets through beautiful landscapes to restaurants and bike dealers. The routes are created using Trendline Popularity Routing, which means that billions of kilometers of cycling data are included. So you can find your way around the routes and paths that are actually used by cyclists like a local. The Edge Explore provides turn-by-turn directions on the go. If you get off the route, that's no problem either, because the device will guide you back on the right path or back to the starting point if you leave the route or want to go home earlier.
Better situational awareness when cycling
The Edge Explore is compatible with Varia bicycle safety products, including radar and smart bicycle lights. Pair the radar with the Edge to receive alarms directly on the Edge's display, for example when cars are approaching from behind. So you have a good view of the traffic and are better seen by drivers. The Edge Explore offers emergency assistance and an integrated accident notification that automatically sends your position to an emergency contact if you have problems.
Networked on the go
Leave your phone in your pocket and just enjoy the tour, because the Edge Explore provides all the necessary smart connections. With LiveTrack, friends and family can track your real-time position and with GroupTrack you can keep an eye on up to 50 of your passengers. If your riders are a little faster or slower, rider-to-rider messages (with a compatible smartphone) allow you to send predefined messages from your Edge bike computer to the other person's device. Let your friends know if you will catch up with them in a few minutes or if they should drive up without you. If you have a flat tire or need help, you can send a message to your fellow passengers, whose devices are paired via GroupTrack, so that they can find you.
Device adaptation
The Edge Explore bike computer is easy to customize with free apps, widgets and data fields from Garmin's Connect IQ shop. Thanks to apps like AccuWeather MinuteCast, you know when the rain will stop so you can start your tour. If you plan your tours on websites like Strava, Komoot or Wikiloc, download these apps so that your favorite routes are imported directly to the Edge and you can follow them. If you're looking for a café or bike shop nearby, use the Yelp app to download the location and use the Edge to create a direct route to it.
