FOX Shock 2024 Float SL 3-Pos EVOL SV Factory 165x42.5 mm | Trunnion
The Fox Float SL is the new ultimate XC shock from Fox.
It is the lightest shock in the portfolio and still offers strong and efficient performance. Particular emphasis was placed on improved traction and more consistent damping. This was achieved with a new main piston, valve and IFP (internal floating piston) cartridge. The tried and tested EVOL air spring is of course also used on the Float SL.
The shock can be set in three suspension modes (Open, Medium & Firm) via lever adjustment. Furthermore, the low-friction Kashima coating reduces the breakaway torque.

Trunnion Mount
This shock is specially designed for mounting according to the Trunnion standard. The upper mount is located on the side of the shock and not in a shock eyelet as is normally the case. This allows the overall length to be shortened without causing space problems inside.
EVOL
The air chamber called EVOL with increased volume for the negative air chamber. EVOL is short for "Extra Volume". This adjustment should also have a positive effect on the suspension quality by reducing the breakaway torque of the damper. This leads to better traction and softer response. The Fox Float SL damper should make the rear end significantly more efficient.
Metric installation dimensions
By introducing metric installation dimensions, the shock manufacturers want to achieve a standardization of standards. In future, there should no longer be so many different variants. In addition, the aim is to achieve a similar linear gradation of the various length and stroke dimensions as is already the case with suspension forks. Incidentally, these dampers offer more space inside, as the hole spacing is usually slightly larger with the same stroke length. This optimizes function and reliability.
KASHIMA COAT
The Kashima coating for a smooth ride feel is available exclusively from FOX. It offers outstanding overall performance, ensures minimum friction and optimum responsiveness with maximum durability.
