Stable, precise and incredibly light. With the HyperBoost3 R rear wheel hub, the Italian lightweight construction specialists are raising the bar even higher.
At 148 grams, the HyperBoost3 R is one of the lightest hubs money can currently buy. Elaborate computer simulations, countless prototypes and a long test phase under the toughest conditions guarantee you a long service life.
In the current version, the Italians have turned the weight screw again and set the new benchmark for hubs at 148g. Despite its low weight, the hub is approved for enduro use with a good driving style. The freewheel mechanism has also been optimized. The toothed disc in the hub body has lost 20% of its weight and sits in a newly developed tooth system. In addition to improved engagement speed when accelerating, this also reduces resistance when rolling. The service life and wear have also been optimized by these changes compared to the predecessor. If you prefer a harder pace, you can install a larger 6903 2RS bearing on the disc side. The weight of the hub then increases by 8 grams, but the hub is much more durable and has a higher load capacity.
As usual from Extralite, the hub is perfectly finished. Minimal tolerances and high-quality materials leave no doubt as to the quality and stability of this work of art. The black, hard-anodized hub rotates on two 6803 2RS deep groove ball bearings around the multiple butted axle . An O-ring on each side provides additional protection against water and dirt. For a long service life of your bearings, you can use the Micro-Turner to perfectly adjust the bearing play at any time.
In addition to the organic oversized shape, the modern concept of the hub also includes the spoke flanges, which are intended for straight pull spokes. The straight spokes result in a straighter power flow and the elimination of the curved spoke head means there is one less potential weak point in the wheel.

The spur gear has 48 teeth. This results in a maximum idle travel of 7.5° when accelerating.
