HyperBoost 3
As if grown from a single piece of metal, the ultra-light Extralite HyperBoost 3 is an Italian masterpiece of precision. The one-piece hub body is manufactured using the latest CNC technology from high-strength 7075TX aluminum, a refined version of the proven 7075 alloy, which is even used in the aerospace industry. Where extreme load capacity meets minimal weight, this material shows its strengths and delivers precisely the structural integrity that is required in critical applications.
At the heart of the hub, everything runs as smooth as silk. Double-sealed stainless steel bearings rotate reliably on a 17 millimeter thick aluminium axle. Precision is tangible, as the axial play can be precisely fine-tuned using the micro-tuner, preventing unwanted movements and vibrations from occurring in the first place.
Consistently designed for performance, the HyperBoost hubs are designed for straight-pull spokes. This distributes the load much more evenly, especially from the disc brake. At the same time, a stiffer wheel is created, while the risk of broken spokes is noticeably reduced. The adapted flange geometry also ensures an optimum spoke angle and enables higher spoke tensions.
An ingenious toothed pulley system made of hard-coated aluminum is used for propulsion. Instead of classic pawls, two precisely toothed disks interlock. As soon as you start pedaling, the 48 teeth of both pulleys interlock and transfer your power directly and almost loss-free to the rear wheel.
With a weight of 227 grams, the hub set is one of the lightest pairs of hubs that you can currently buy for money. Elaborate computer simulations, countless prototypes and a long test phase under the toughest conditions guarantee a long service life. All Extralite hubs are manufactured in Italy with high precision and creative passion and stand for outstanding performance, exceptional lightness and a quality of workmanship that is second to none.
