ENVE wheelset 28" SES 2.3 | DT Swiss 240 EXP Center Lock hubs
With the SES 2.3 wheelset, ENVE provides you with the perfect weapon for the mountains. It is light, stiff and stable, with different rim heights on the front and rear wheels offering the best compromise between weight, riding stability and aerodynamics. The developers spent many hours in the laboratory until the final shape of the rims was determined. Together with the DT Swiss 240 hubs and Sapim spokes, you will have a lot of fun with it.
ENVE SES 2.3 Disc rims
The ENVE SES 2.3 rims are the ultimate basis for a lightweight sprint or mountain wheelset. Thanks to optimization in the wind tunnel, the final shape of the rim was defined aerodynamically. Incredible front crosswind stability and unsurpassed handling provide confidence on fast descents, regardless of road and weather conditions.
The ENVE engineers opted for a hookless design, which enables perfect tubeless compatibility. This guarantees a durable seal. In addition, the rim flange could be reinforced, which provides more stability at this critical point and makes it more resistant to damage from punctures. In addition, mounting and demounting the tire is made much easier.
DT Swiss 240 EXP hubs
Lighter, stiffer, more precise and easier to maintain - these are the strengths of the DT Swiss 240 hubs. These properties have been achieved primarily thanks to the Ratchet EXP technology. Thanks to this, the hubs require fewer components, which has reduced the weight compared to the previous model. It also allows the bearing to be positioned much further out on the drive side. The greater distance results in greater hub rigidity, less bearing load and therefore a longer service life. Special attention was paid to the spoke flanges on the sides, which were designed to distribute the drive and braking forces more evenly on both sides. This prevents peak loads, which protects the hub, spokes and rim.
The EXP freewheel system guarantees reliable propulsion. Two toothed pulleys engage with each other via 36 engagement points, thus ensuring a large and extremely direct power transmission.
Sapim CX-Ray spokes
With the CX-Ray, Sapim has succeeded in developing an exceptional spoke. In addition to its low weight, it has an exceptional load capacity and flexibility. This also results in a wide range of applications. Whether road cyclists or mountain bikers, everyone benefits from these positive characteristics. In addition, the flattened middle section ensures excellent aerodynamics. The high material quality enables the construction of stable wheels and guarantees a long service life.
ENVE products are developed in the USA and manufactured to the highest quality standards at the company's headquarters in Utah. The developers have years of experience with the use of carbon in the field of cycling and know what requirements a top product such as these carbon rims must meet. At ENVE, every effort is made to utilize the advantages of carbon and eliminate its disadvantages. Stiff and extremely light rims have been developed in which all fibers can run without interruption, which corresponds to the best possible utilization of the material thicknesses. This principle has been perfected in the spoke holes, where continuous fiber strands form the receptacle for the spoke nipples. Aluminum inserts, which are common in other carbon rims, can therefore be dispensed with during production. This reduces the weight and at the same time allows significantly higher spoke tensions, which in turn allow the construction of stiffer wheels.
All wheels come with an ENVE factory warranty of 5 years and lifetime ENVE Incidental Damage Protection. We recommend registering the product within 60 days of purchase to be eligible for warranty and accidental damage protection program. Register here.
Note: The ENVE SES 2.3 are only compatible with tubeless and tubeless-ready tires that are also approved for hookless rim profiles. You can find a selection of tire models tested and recommended by ENVE here. If a tire you want to use is not listed, this does not mean that it is incompatible. Rather, it has not yet been tested by ENVE.
