XMC 1200 carbon rims
Carbon has also become the first choice of rim material for DT Swiss. Weight, steering precision and stability are almost unbeatable, and the Swiss use a new production technology. This means that the outer layers consist of continuous fiber strands and are not cut up. It also compresses the carbon fabric very strongly. This avoids weak points from the outset and takes durability to a new level. The vulnerable rim flange in particular resists punctures even better. In addition, the rim does not have to be reworked or painted after removal from the mold, but has the final finish immediately. After production, a new, patent-pending test procedure, which enables a layer-by-layer inspection, guarantees that only perfect rims are delivered. So you can always rely on your material.
Of course, the inner width is dimensioned in such a way that even wide tires get an optimally round shape and ensure better grip and high comfort. The rim flange is also hookless and therefore offers the best tubeless compatibility.
DT Swiss 180 Spline EXP hub
No compromises have been made in the center of the wheelset, where an elegant DT Swiss 180 hub with a modern spline design spins. The ratchet EXP freehub guarantees reliable propulsion at all times. With this, 54 teeth engage securely with each other via two toothed pulleys. This means large-area power transmission and therefore less susceptibility to wear, as well as an extremely low free travel of 6.67°. The perfectly sealed ceramic bearings are legendary. In addition to incredibly smooth running, they guarantee a long service life and low maintenance.
Revolite spokes with Pro Lock nipples
The DT Swiss Revolite spokes combine low weight and durability. During the development process, various versions were extensively tested until the final shape and choice of raw materials were finalized. The result is a cross-shaped cross-section flattened on one side, which is considered the best compromise between the above-mentioned properties. In addition, a special, patented cold forging process ensures that the material is compacted and thus also increases stability. Nevertheless, the spokes can also withstand harder impacts, which makes them ideal for use on mountain bikes.
In the Pro Lock process, a patented two-component adhesive is injected into the nipple thread, enabling the construction of extremely durable wheels. As soon as the nipples are screwed in, the adhesive is activated and hardens completely at room temperature after approx. 6 - 7 hours. Repeated re-centering is still possible without any problems, although the adhesive strength decreases slightly each time.
