DT-Swiss is launching the new HU 1900 Spline E-Bike wheels under the slogan "Built to Last". While the majority of DT-Swiss wheels are aimed at the sporty, ambitious rider, the hybrid utility wheels focus on suitability for everyday use and durability for urban and touring use. E-bikes are often used to transport heavy loads on a daily basis, which significantly increases the drive and braking forces acting on the wheels. The reinforced components of the HU 1900 wheels were designed, developed and tested for this requirement profile. With a maximum permitted system weight of 180 kilograms, they can cope with all the loads that occur.

DT Swiss 370 Hybrid hubs
To cope with the higher drive forces on the E-MTB, the DT Swiss 370 hub has a cassette mount made of specially hardened steel. Its Ratchet LN sprocket system distributes the combined power of rider and motor evenly and without load peaks via 18 teeth per wheel revolution.

Reinforced rims
The rims installed have a higher rim cross-section. The resulting increased rigidity means that the rims deform less under load. In everyday use, this means a longer service life for rims and spokes.

Reinforced Hybrid 1 spokes
Spoke heads enlarged to 2.34 millimetres ensure consistent load capacity at high torques. Even under dynamic stress on non-ideal surfaces and with the maximum permitted system weight, the spokes are able to withstand the forces that occur. The manual assembly of the wheels also plays a major role in durability, in order to guarantee high and uniform spoke tension.

Pro Lock technology
In the Pro Lock process, a patented two-component adhesive is injected into the nipple thread and enables the construction of extremely durable wheels. As soon as the nipples are screwed in, the adhesive is activated and hardens completely at room temperature after approx. 6 - 7 hours. Multiple re-centering is still possible without any problems, although the adhesive strength decreases slightly with each re-centering.
