EXC 1501 carbon rims
Carbon has also become the first choice of rim material for DT Swiss. Weight, steering precision and stability are almost unbeatable. The large inner width gives every tire an optimally round shape and ensures better grip and high comfort. The hookless rim flange is specially reinforced to better withstand possible punctures. Of course, DT Swiss is known for its perfect workmanship and the high-quality finish, which even rocks that hit the rim will bite their teeth out on.
DT Swiss 240 Spline Ratchet DEG hubs
At the center is the proven DT Swiss 240 hub with its striking spline design. Its legendary status is based on its ultimate reliability. Its proven design withstands even the toughest applications and guarantees reliable propulsion at all times with the ratchet DEG ratchet freehub. With this, 90 teeth engage securely via two toothed pulleys, which means large-area power transmission and therefore less susceptibility to wear, as well as an extremely low free travel of 4°.In addition, the hub body is very low-torsion thanks to the intelligent design and can transfer the braking and drive forces even better from both spoke flanges to all spokes. The hub also impresses with its low weight and ensures a long service life and low maintenance thanks to the perfectly sealed bearings.
Competition Race Straightpull spokes with Pro Lock nipples
The high rigidity of the carbon rims allows the 1501 wheels to be built with the weight-optimized Competition Race spokes without negatively affecting durability. The low weight of the spokes is achieved by tapering the middle section to 1.6 millimetres. The straight-pull lacing also increases the load capacity of the wheels by eliminating the sensitive spoke bends.
In the Pro Lock process, a patented two-component adhesive is injected into the nipple thread and enables the construction of extremely durable wheels. As soon as the nipples are screwed in, the adhesive is activated and hardens completely at room temperature after approx. 6 - 7 hours. Repeated re-centering is still possible without any problems, although the adhesive strength decreases slightly each time.
