Description
DT SWISS front wheel 27.5" FR 1500 Classic | 20x110 mm thru axle Boost
With this stable front wheel, you can definitely let it rip downhill and concentrate fully on the slopes. You can rely on the material. The choice of components guarantees durability and longevity. In addition to the FR 541 rim, the proven 240 hub and DT Swiss Competition spokes are used.
DT Swiss FR 541 rim
This rim is the ideal basis for an indestructible wheel. During development, special attention was paid to impact resistance and the prevention of sudden air loss. In order to achieve this, the rim flange has been reinforced and made slightly wider. Nevertheless, the weight is in the acceptable range, which is also helped by the reduction to 28 spokes. In addition, the enormous inner width gives the tire perfect support, which prevents it from buckling in fast corners and provides more driving stability. The high-quality processing typical of DT Swiss and the welded rim joint guarantee the rim a long service life. In addition, the shot-blasted surface largely keeps stone chips away, so that it looks like new even after many descents.
DT Swiss 240 EXP hub
DT Swiss always manages to make good things even better. This also applies to the popular 240 hub. In contrast to the previous model, it is even lighter, stiffer and easier to maintain. The use of materials has been optimized and the weight reduced. Bearings located a little further out ensure the high rigidity of the hub body, which is reflected in more direct steering behavior. In addition, the reinforced flanges transmit braking forces more evenly to all spokes, making the wheel itself more stable and durable.
The high-quality stainless steel industrial ball bearings, which do their work inconspicuously over many thousands of kilometers, guarantee you low-maintenance. The exact fit and the good seal make you almost forget their existence. After all, you're supposed to drive and not just do handicrafts.
DT Swiss Competition spokes with DT ProLock Squorx ProHead nipples
The Competition spokes used also show no weaknesses. Thanks to the cold forging process during their manufacture, they have a high level of strength, but also have a certain degree of flexibility thanks to the butted middle section. This allows them to cushion hard blows without being damaged. In addition, a lot of weight is saved.
The spokes are connected to the rim by the DT ProLock Squorx ProHead aluminum nipples. With these, a two-component adhesive is injected into the thread. This activates during assembly and hardens after 6-7 hours. As a result, loosening of the spokes is almost impossible and a long-term stable impeller is guaranteed. However, re-centering is possible at any time without any problems. In addition, they have a spherical contact surface, which allows the nipple to automatically align itself with the spoke angle. This enables a better power flow and prevents tilting in the rim base.
