After countless laboratory and field tests, the UFO Drip Wet chain lubricant, a mixture of wax, trace oils and friction modifiers, is the result. It is suitable for poor and wet conditions and adheres reliably to the chain. The main aim was to significantly reduce friction in the drivetrain, which can make all the difference for racers.
Strictly speaking, UFO Drip is not a lubricant, but a coating. Still liquid when applied, it hardens into a completely dry layer and allows foreign particles to bounce off, leading to increased friction and wear. According to Ceramicspeed, the driver saves between 2 and 5 watts of power during application. It has also been proven to extend the service life of the drivetrain by up to 40 %. And if something does drip onto the grass during application, there are no negative consequences because the ingredients are biodegradable.
Application
Use requires a little patience. The chain should first be thoroughly cleaned and dried. Then, as shown in the video below, drip UFO Drip twice onto the top and bottom of the chain and turn the cranks for 30 - 60 seconds to distribute it evenly. Approx. 8 ml is sufficient for a complete coating. The lubricant must harden for about 8 hours between application and the next ride to allow it to develop its full effect. If the coating has been washed off the chain after riding in the rain, a new application should be made, otherwise after 200 km at the latest.
