CARBON-TI wheelset 29" X-Wheel Crazy Jack 30 SLS4

The X-Hub SP hubs from Carbon-Ti rotate in the center. Their elaborately CNC-milled housing moves around a multi-butted aluminum axle with a diameter of 17 mm. This generates an extraordinarily high level of rigidity and steering movements are passed on directly. The high-quality, double-sealed industrial ball bearings from SKF ensure permanently smooth running. To extend the service life, the axle play can be easily adjusted via the pre-load adjustment ring.
On the rear wheel hub, the freewheel grips four pawls, each with three teeth, in a 56-tooth titanium ring. This means that it will easily withstand performance-oriented drivers.
With the Crazy Jack SLS4 rims, Duke has once again succeeded in further improving them compared to the previous version. In doing so, they have once again pushed the apparently technically possible limits. A 30 mm stable, wide rim with a weight of approx. 365g is a direct challenge to the competition.
How did the French do this? They took a closer look at the individual elements of the rim and looked for optimization options. In particular, a new resin was used. This not only made it possible to slim down, but also to increase impact resistance at the same time. Similar to the SLS3 production process, post-processing or painting is not necessary here either.
The rims are provided with an asymmetrical rim profile, which allows a more even angle of the spokes. This optimization of the spoke angle brings with it a multitude of advantages. The spoke tension on both sides can be better adjusted to each other, which is beneficial to the durability of the spokes and the entire wheel. The lateral stiffness, which is normally directional, is also adjusted so that the impeller itself becomes stiffer.
The connection between rims and hubs is taken over by Sapim CX-Ray straightpull spokes. In addition to their low weight, these have exceptional resilience and flexibility. This also results in the large intended use . It doesn't matter whether you are a racing cyclist or a mountain biker, everyone benefits from these positive characteristics. In addition, the flattened center section ensures excellent aerodynamics. The high material quality enables the construction of stable wheels and guarantees a long service life.
In addition, the elimination of the heavily stressed spoke arch eliminates a potential point of breakage and thus further minimizes the susceptibility to punctures.
