The hub body of the X-Hub SP hub is elaborately CNC-milled and rotates around a multi-butted aluminum axle. With a diameter of 17 mm, this provides the hub with considerable rigidity. The Ceramicspeed version is fitted with exclusive ceramic bearings from the Danish bearing specialists. In addition to their longevity, the bearings help you save a few watts thanks to their silky smooth running. The axle play can be easily adjusted by hand from the outside.
The hub is designed for straight pull spokes. These can generate a little more stiffness. However, the greater advantage lies elsewhere. The weak point of a bent spoke is the head with its bend. If a spoke breaks, it is usually at this point, whereas straight-pull spokes do not have this weak point. In addition, weight can be saved because shorter versions can be used.
