The Shamal is a dry, hot north-westerly wind that mainly occurs in the Persian Gulf and surrounding regions. It is known for its immense intensity and ability to stir up large amounts of dust and sand. The first version of the Shamal wheelset, launched in 1992, thrilled cycling enthusiasts with its revolutionary high-profile design. With the current version of the icon, the Italians are once again setting new standards with the innovative dual-profile rim design.

The completely newly developed dual-profile rim design with alternating tread heights of 40 millimetres and 45 millimetres was optimized in the wind tunnel and extensively tested on the road. The differentiated profile height noticeably improves the aerodynamic properties in crosswinds and ensures better directional stability and therefore easier handling. In addition, the design in combination with the likewise redesigned hubs guarantees stiffer wheels without compromising on comfort. Thanks to the low weight of just 1480 grams per wheelset, the Shamal wheels are the perfect choice for cyclists looking for high performance in all road conditions as well as on gravel tracks.

The closed rim bottoms improve stiffness and make the rims extremely easy to accelerate. With an inner width of 23 millimetres, the Shamal wheels underline their versatility. The iconic G3 spoking gives the wheels a unique look that clearly identifies them as a Campagnolo product. The ultra-light hubs have a center-lock brake rotor mount and are equipped with a pawl freehub. Thanks to different freehub bodies, the wheelset is also compatible with SRAM or Shimano drivetrains.

Each wheel is handcrafted by a Campagnolo specialist in Italy and trimmed to perfection using electronically controlled instruments. This process guarantees maximum performance and reliability.

2-Way-Fit (2WF)
Thanks to the closed 2WF rim profile, the Shamal wheels are suitable for tubeless use without the need to fit rim tape. However, they can also be ridden conventionally with a tube. The hook profile of the rims ensures a secure tire fit.

C-LUX finish
Thanks to the C-LUX finish, the Shamal rims do not require painting. The C-LUX finish is achieved by controlling the resin that makes up the carbon structure during the manufacturing process. As a result, the rim surfaces are so smooth and free of defects that painting is not necessary. This not only saves weight, but also ensures fascinating light reflections from the exposed carbon fibers.
