BRAKING disc brake RM4 Kevlar | front and rear
Braking simply means braking - and that's exactly what the RM4 from Italy can do in every situation. Whether you are gliding over flowing trails, plunging down steep descents or touring with your e-bike, you will always come to a reliable stop.
The top models INCAS 2.0 and FIRST have already caused a sensation in the bike scene, and the smaller sister RM4 adopts many of their features and sets new standards with its own features.
Even the lever and control unit is a new design. The mechanically movable part has been separated from the hydraulic part, making it a real eye-catcher on any bike. The look is very similar to motocross and definitely stands out from the uniformity of other manufacturers. The flawless, black finish will be a pleasure to look at even after years of use. You can control the braking force with the non-slip 2-finger lever. It is painless to hold, even on long descents. For individual adjustment, you can set the grip width without tools using a rotary knob.
A special feature is the rotating reservoir. This can be rotated through 180° and can therefore be aligned horizontally depending on the angle of the lever. This means that it is always the topmost part of the brake system and can fulfill its function perfectly. It also looks more harmonious in this position.
The brake fluid is fed to the brake calliper through a Kevlar line. Four pistons with a diameter of 15 mm work in the caliper and press the pads powerfully against the disc. The external shape and the use of materials were chosen so that the heat generated during braking is dissipated as quickly as possible and fading or a shift in the pressure point is largely avoided. Attention was also paid to reducing the weight and ensuring high rigidity. It is also worth noting that brake discs up to 2.2 mm thick can be used, which will please enduro riders and e-bikers in particular.
Bleeding the system has also been simplified. Thanks to a small nipple, the brake fluid can simply be pressed upwards from below and air bubbles have practically no chance of hiding.
For experienced mechanics, fitting the brake system is not a major problem. The split clamp can be quickly attached to the handlebars without having to remove the grips. Oval holes on the post mount help to align the brake calliper with the rotor.
