With the PowerTube 540, trekking and eMountain bikes can easily cover long distances. Thanks to its compact size and minimalist design, the battery fits perfectly into the design of the eBike. It also offers more range for the same weight compared to the PowerTube 500. The sophisticated technology of the lithium-ion batteries, which can be integrated into the frame, ensures carefree riding fun, while a safety catch prevents the battery from falling out even in challenging terrain. The battery can be inserted and removed safely and conveniently.
Charging times and service life
A charging cycle refers to the complete charging of a battery with a single charge or several partial charges. The duration depends on the battery capacity and the charger. The Standard Charger charges the PowerTube 540 to 50 % in approx. 3.8 hours, the full charge takes 7.7 hours. The Fast Charger charges even quicker, half-charging the PowerTube 540 in just 1.8 hours - perfect for on the go. The corresponding full charge takes just 4.9 hours. The service life of Bosch batteries is primarily influenced by the type and duration of use. Like any lithium-ion battery, a Bosch battery ages naturally, even if it is not used. However, it does not self-discharge and has no memory effect.
Factors that have a positive effect on the service life:
-Low stress
-Storage at a temperature between 0 and 20 °C
-Storage at a charge level of approx. 30-60 %.
-Parking the eBike in the shade or in cool rooms
Factors that shorten the service life:
-Heavy use
-Storage at ambient temperatures above 30°C
-Prolonged storage in a completely full or completely empty state
-Parking the eBike in the blazing sun
