BIKE AHEAD COMPOSITES stem/handlebar unit The Unit ICR | UD Carbon matt

Light, beautiful and tidy! This applies to the new cockpit from carbon manufacturer Bike Ahead Composites. The further development of the stem/handlebar unit The Unit bears the addition ICR - which stands for internal cable routing.
This means that the cables can now be routed completely internally and hidden in the frame thanks to an elegant outlet. The trend towards complete integration is the focus of future bikes. The design language of the frames will be complex and organic at the same time. Bike Ahead Composites reflects these two requirements with the handlebar-stem combination THE UNIT ICR. Nature has provided a model for this - a marine animal - the manta ray.

As a link to your frame, Bike Ahead offers two different sealed top cover sets that are compatible with Acros bearings. The following versions are available:

- IS42 top cover set (use for external cables)
- IS52 top cover set (use for internal cables)

The IS52 version offers the option of hiding the cables completely in the cockpit / frame. Whereas the IS42 version does not lead the cables into the frame. These are routed externally into the cable inlets of the frame.

You only need the matching Acros IS52 bearing including centering ring and seal. You can find this here. If your frame has the IS42 dimension, you only need the matching Acros IS42 bearing including centering ring. You can find this hereor as a set with a lower IS52 here.

Anyone who knows the Würzburg team around Christian Gemperlein knows that the focus is not just on the scales. In addition to design and weight, a safe and durable product was of course also the focus of development.
At this point, the Würzburg team can draw on 10 years of CFRP expertise in terms of design and fiber structure. The result is very good damping in the handlebars and high torsional stiffness in the stem, which is perfectly rounded off by the patented NSA applications in the clamping area of the shift and brake levers.

But that's not all - Bike Ahead has another ace up its sleeve!
In collaboration with Carbonworks, the German manufacturer of the lightest GPS computer mounts, a unique system has been developed in which the mount can be fitted directly.

All production steps take place in-house, from the idea to the series product. This means that the entire process and quality can be monitored at all times in order to manufacture safe products. In line with the philosophy of "functional lightweight construction", the guys at Bike Ahead know each of their products down to the smallest carbon fiber.

NOTE: The instructions for the product must be followed! Torques must be strictly adhered to. If the necessary specialist knowledge or tools for correct installation are missing, the installation must be carried out by a specialist workshop with the appropriate knowledge. Bar ends must not be fitted.

Note: Bike Ahead recommends applying mounting paste to the carbon tubes before screwing them into the handlebars to ensure that the computer mount remains securely in place. This increases the clamping effect and prevents them from falling out.
