Tried and tested in the mountain bike sector for years, the 10-tooth sprocket is now also finding its way into racing bikes. This is made possible by the new SRAM XDR freewheel standard. The advantages are obvious: In conjunction with the proven one-piece design, the cassette can be built even lighter with the same bandwidth. In addition, weight can be saved on the crank, as smaller chainrings are necessary for the same maximum development as with an 11-tooth sprocket. So that the gear steps stay small without having to forego bandwidth, SRAM has upgraded the new Force cassette to 12-speed . The additional 12th pinion significantly expands the intended use the cassette in combination with the eTap AXS 1-speed group. Compared to the previous version, the shift gates have been further optimized and matched to the electronic eTap AXS rear derailleur. The result is even faster and smoother gear changes. The pinions made of tool steel are connected to each other with the SRAM mini-cluster construction via pins. The cassette's largest pinion, made of aluminum, ensures a significant weight reduction.

The new SRAM Force chain has been redesigned from the ground up. The unique flat-top shape of the plates allows the chain to be made narrower and lighter. The resulting greater distance between the outer plates and the pinions ensures that the chain runs more smoothly and gear changes are even more precise. As a positive side effect, the service life of the chain is also increased. This is also ensured by a chrome coating on the inside of the tabs and the rollers.
