Hub dynamo or thru axle?
So far, the demanding biker has had to do without one of the two. The thru axle hub dynamo for fat bike forks with 150mm clamping width. The thru axle stiffens the suspension fork and enables a more precise positioning of the hub, which is particularly useful for disc brakes. More and more mountain bikers want to take advantage of a hub dynamo lighting system. No wonder SON was asked more and more about a thru-axle hub dynamo.
In order to bring both under one roof, not only the axle construction, but also essential parts of the generator had to be changed. Result: A hub dynamo that is similar in appearance, robustness and electrical values to the SON 28 disc, but with a thick "hole".
