Shimano is using carbon rims for the first time in this area of application. This is the best way to manage the balancing act between stiffness, durability and yet low weight. The excellently processed UD carbon fibres give the wheelset a sophisticated look. Thanks to the enormous inner width of 25 mm, even wide tires are perfectly supported in the rim well, offering you the best grip and comfort. The relatively high sidewall ensures very good aerodynamic values on fast tracks and enables energy-saving, long speed sections. Even air pressures of up to 5 bar are no problem, the tire sits securely and stably at all times thanks to the hook profile. In addition, the rims are naturally suitable for tubeless use and prepared accordingly.
Heavily butted straight-pull blade spokes help to reduce the weight and provide a certain amount of flexibility, which takes some of the strain off the rider, especially on rough surfaces. The hub rotates on proven conical bearings with steel balls and polished bearing shells.Thanks to the large flange spacing, the lateral rigidity of the wheel has been further increased and is therefore optimally balanced for fast and safe riding on different terrains.The steel pawl freehub is robust and immediately converts every acceleration into propulsion. All 11- and 12-speed Shimano Road compatible cassettes can be mounted on the freehub body.
