Disc brakes are now also indispensable on time trial bikes and can save you valuable seconds in the fight against the clock thanks to their better controllability and higher braking power. The slim Dura Ace ST-R9180 levers integrate a hydraulic disc brake system into your cockpit in an aerodynamic manner. Of course, the Di2 cables and brake lines are also routed through the handlebars, completely protected from the wind. In contrast to mechanical gears, the integrated Di2 buttons allow you to shift gears in the trailer and in the brake lever position (only in synchronized shift mode). The shift button can also be used in multishift mode for quick gear changes.
The ST-R9180 levers are compatible with both the 11-speed Dura-Ace 9170 Di2 groupset and the 12-speed Dura-Ace 9270 Di2 groupset. The E-Tube cable adapter EW-AD305 is required for use with the Dura Ace 9270 group.
The BR-R9270 brake calipers offer a larger pad spacing than its predecessor and reduce the noise level during braking. In addition, the peak of high braking performance has been reached with the brand new monoblock construction. In addition, a new venting technology makes maintenance easier than ever.
