ROTOR Power Meter INSpider MTB for Shimano Direct Mount cranks | LK 100 mm

Based on the INSpider power meter with 110 millimeter bolt circle, the Spanish company Rotor is launching a further developed version especially for MTB use. With a bolt circle of 100 millimeters, the INSpider MTB is compatible with Rotor's own round and oval chainrings with 30 to 36 teeth. Its Universal Tooth technology enables the use of chainrings and spiders with both Shimano 1x12 drivetrains and SRAM 1x12 Eagle drivetrains. But it is not only the bolt circle on the INSpider MTB that is new. The CNC-machined 7075-T6 aluminum housing has been completely redesigned and packs the power meter unit even more discreetly than the previous version. The slimmer design of the INSpider MTB not only reduces the chance of stone chips, the weight has also been reduced by 32% compared to the previous version. At 105 grams, the INSpider MTB is one of the lightest spider measuring systems on the market. This version can be mounted on all Shimano MTB direct-mount cranks

Technically speaking, the INSpider lies between the 2INpower and INpower power measurement systems from Rotor. While the INpower only measures the power in one crank arm, the INSpider determines the power of both legs via 4 counter-rotating strain gauges. This enables a precise performance analysis of pedalling and the possibility to visualize potential for improvement. However, it is not possible to analyze both legs separately, as is possible with the 2INpower's separate measurement on both sides. The system automatically compensates for measurement deviations caused by temperature fluctuations between -20°C and 50°C. However, the INSpider should be calibrated manually via a compatible ANT+/Bluetooth bike computer or the Rotor software after fitting or changing the chainrings and at least once a month. Thanks to its fully encapsulated measurement technology, the power meter is insensitive to environmental influences and completely waterproof thanks to a magnetic charging connection. The permanently integrated rechargeable battery ensures an operating time of up to 350 hours.

Another highlight of the system is the TORQUE 360 evaluation option. Rotor's proprietary software can be used to analyze the torque curve during a pedal rotation. This measurement technology is particularly valuable for riders who use Rotor's oval Q-ring chainrings. Using the OCA (optimized-chainring-angle) system, the software can determine the optimum position of the Q-Rings. This allows you to apply your power to the pedal even more effectively.
