Description
MAXXIS tire Forekaster 29 x 2.40 WT 3C MaxxTerra TR EXO+ E-50
The new version of the Maxxis Forekaster has been specially developed for down country and trail use. This tire closes the gap between the fast-rolling Cross Country tires (Aspen, Rekon, RekonRace and Ikon) and the downhill-oriented All Mountain and Enduro tires (Dissector, Minion, DHF, DHR2 and Assegai) in the Maxxis portfolio. The new Forekaster is the perfect companion for long rides on different terrains. The new profile is characterized by the center lugs being closer together, which is said to reduce rolling resistance. In addition, the side studs have been enlarged and, thanks to the slits, not only offer more support, but also grip. The small ribs between the studs ensure better self-cleaning.
Manufacturer's Notes: Maxxis strongly discourages the use of sealant containing ammonia. Ammonia has been shown to attack the carcass and, depending on the amount used, can weaken it by up to 30% after just a few months. Maxxis recommends using Tire Plasma tire sealant.
Wide Trail Casing (WT)
This special carcass construction optimizes the tread layout and tire shape on today's wider rims. Traditional tires are developed for narrow rims and get a square shape on wide rims and thus a less than optimal performance.
WT tires are optimized for an internal rim width of 35 mm, but they also work excellently on all rims with an internal dimension between 30 and 40 mm.
3C MaxxTerra
The right 3C compound for Enduro and Freeride tires. Ease of movement uphill and the best grip downhill characterize this mixture as well as a long service life.
EXO+ Protection
The new EXO+ construction is based on a 60 TPI carcass coated with a new abrasion-resistant rubber. There is a rubberized EXO puncture protection layer in the side walls and a short butyl insert is incorporated over the tire bead. T he EXO+ technology has almost twice as much puncture protection and 20% more puncture protection than the EXO construction and thus ranks pretty much exactly between EXO and DD (Double Down). Tires with EXO+ Protection are built for aggressive trail riding and enduro racing, and are especially designed for the higher torque and weight of E-MTBs.
Tubeless ready
tube tires have many advantages: you can drive with less air pressure. This gives better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no inner tube , the risk of punctures is also reduced. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for installation with sealant than other "tubeless ready" tires. The bead of the Maxxis TR tires is completely covered with a layer of rubber, just like a real UST tubeless tube . As a result, tube installation is successful for all rims with standard dimensions the first time you pump it up and with little liquid.
E-Bike Ready | E50
Maxxis tires with the e-bike logo meet and exceed the requirements of the ECE-R75 standard and are ideally suited for use on fast e-bikes.
