MAXXIS REKON 29 x 2.60 3C MaxxTerra TR EXO tires

The Rekon is an aggressive trail tire and proves its capabilities especially in technical terrain. Wide center lugs ensure braking control and the L-shaped side lugs bite into the terrain, providing secure grip in loose corners and sloping terrain. With this confidence, you can simply ride without having to explore the trail conditions beforehand. The TR version with EXO sidewall protection is designed for riding without a tube with sealant, but like all TR tires can also be ridden with a tube.

Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no inner tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealing milk than other "tubeless ready" tires. The bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a layer of rubber, just like a real UST tubeless tire. This means that tubeless fitting is successful on all rims with standard dimensions from the very first inflation and with little liquid.
Like tires from other manufacturers, "normal" MAXXIS MTB tires can also be mounted tubeless with sealant, as the carcass fabric is very tight.
However, only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved and guaranteed by MAXXIS for tubeless mounting. The fitting of tubeless tires on other models is at your own risk.

3C Maxx Terra
The right 3C mix for enduro and freeride tires. This compound is characterized by smooth uphill performance and excellent downhill grip as well as a long service life.

EXO Protection
This extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very densely woven, lightweight and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tires remains convincingly good.

Note: We strongly advise against the use of sealants containing ammonia. Ammonia has been proven to attack the carcass and can weaken it by up to 30% after just a few months, depending on the amount used.
