6 pawl freewheel system in offset design

Labyrinth seal
One of the main goals of the Hope designers was to reduce friction in the drive mechanism. They achieved this with the help of the new, zero-resistance labyrinth seal on the drive side. This is a non-contact shaft seal. In addition, the friction in the drive mechanism could be reduced by using the improved pawl system and springs. With the reduction of friction in the drive system, the resilience and thus the durability of the rear wheel hub was improved at the same time. The non-drive end bearings have an external seal.
