The developers at GEMINI have always been surrounded by bicycles since they were very young, and now they apply the knowledge they have acquired in the manufacture of composite materials, resulting from years of experience in the design of motorcycles, bicycles and components, to perfection. As with the other stem/handlebar units, Gemini has rethought geometry with the ÄLZIR, an ultra-lightweight handlebar designed specifically for road cyclists who prioritize low weight and the best possible climbing characteristics with the best possible comfort. During development, every area of the handlebars was examined and optimized to the highest level. This made it possible to save a lot of weight compared to conventional handlebars.
The ÄLZIR is made of the best carbon fiber currently available on the market: Mitsubishi MR70, which was specially developed for the most demanding customers in the aerospace industry and is the key to greater comfort and safety. Countless tests in the laboratory and off-road confirm the perfect symbiosis of design and material, which offers optimum conditions for racing.
Manufactured in one piece
The Älzir is manufactured in a unibody construction to eliminate stresses on individual parts and increase resistance. This improves the stiffness-to-weight ratio and creates an extremely lightweight structure.
ultralight
In the light version, the handlebar-stem unit weighs just 220g (max. 90kg rider + bike). Ideal if you want to build a weight-saving bike. If you attach more importance to stiffness, there is also the Performance version from 310g (max. 130kg rider + bike).
Maximum comfort
The handlebars are ergonomically shaped. A larger support surface prevents your carpal tunnel nerve from being pinched. The Älzir offers you maximum freedom of movement so that your forearms do not hit the handlebars.
aerodynamic shape
GEMINI has spent a lot of time performing CFD calculations and optimizing the aerodynamics to reduce drag. The unique shapes of the Älzir have been designed to give you a more aerodynamic position on the bike and make you even faster.
Different versions
You can tailor the handlebar-stem unit perfectly to your needs, as GEMINI offers the Älzir in different versions. It is available in several widths, stem lengths and different reaches. You can find a geometry guide on the GEMINI website.
Steering cable guide (SCR)
The steering cable routing is for bikes where the head tube is not round, so that the cables run through the steerer tube and the head tube. This makes your bike look even cleaner and allows you to take advantage of the aerodynamic benefits.
Note: The stem/handlebar unit is compatible with the Vostok adapter for Garmin, Wahoo, Polar, Twonav and Bryton.
