Duke's MADMAX SP hubs are the perfect hub for lightweight, stiff and durable wheels.
The CNC machined and then black anodized 7075 T6 aluminium hub body rotates around three 6902 and one 6802 2RS deep groove ball bearings, which sit on a rigid 15 mm axle and are double sealed. All bearings are positioned as far outwards as possible for stable support, which creates additional rigidity. The geometry of the spoke flanges has been optimized in diameter and spoke angle to reduce the load on the spoke heads to a minimum.
At 212g, the DUKE MADMAX SP hub is a lightweight among the BOOST rear wheel hubs. A special feature of the hub is the freehub body made of titanium grade 5 (Ti6Al4V). Thanks to the excellent properties of the material, the teeth could be milled directly into the freehub body and the number of moving parts was reduced to a special spring and the toothed lock washer in the hub body. The 70-fold toothing results in a maximum free travel of 5.14° and is extremely large with a diameter of 35 mm. The large diameter allows optimum transmission of the torque and the hub is therefore also approved for use in e-bikes.
An elementary point for the reliability of your new hub is protection from the elements. The special seal between the hub shell and freehub body guarantees optimum protection against dirt and water with smooth running that is second to none.
From the initial design to the finished hub, all steps are carried out entirely in Europe. Selected partners turn, mill, anodize and laser engrave the individual parts of the hub according to Duke's strict specifications. Final assembly and quality control take place in the Vendeé region of France, guaranteeing you a perfect product every time.
