In contrast to hubs or the bottom bracket, the ball bearings in the rear triangle or headset do not rotate continuously. As a result, lubricating grease can be pushed aside over time and is no longer in the places where it is needed. The clever minds at Ceramicspeed tackled this problem and developed the SLT (Solid Lubrication Technology) technology.
The main focus here was not on smooth running, but on a permanent oil film. The stainless steel balls are in a solid plastic polymer, which is equipped with countless micropores. The lubricating fluid is located in these. It always distributes the amount required for smooth running and a long service life.
In addition, the "solid" inner workings prevent the seals on both sides from being pressed inwards and water penetrating in the event of mechanical influences from the outside, e.g. when cleaning with a high-pressure jet. Vertical or axial forces can also be better absorbed and distributed, which definitely increases durability.
For the corrosion resistance, the choice of material was made of stainless steel. This means that aggressive substances such as salts or chemicals have no chance of damaging the bearings.
