The hub body of the X-Hub SP rear hub is elaborately CNC-milled and rotates around a multi-butted aluminum axle. With a diameter of 17 mm, this brings a good degree of rigidity to the hub. Four high-quality, double-sealed ball bearings are installed, which ensure a permanently silky smooth run. The axis play can easily be adjusted by hand from the outside. The new pre-load adjustment ring is now easier to operate.
The freewheel engages with four pawls, each with three teeth, in a 56-fold titanium tooth ring in order to be able to withstand even performance-oriented drivers. With a weight of well under 200g, the X-Hub is one of the lightest rear hubs on the market.
The hub is designed for straight straight pull spokes. These can generate a little more rigidity. But the bigger advantage lies elsewhere. The weak point of a curved spoke is the head with its curvature. When a spoke breaks, it is mostly at this point. Spokes in particular do not have this weak point.
