CAMPAGNOLO Groupset 1x13 ROAD Super Record 13
Campagnolo introduced the first Super Record groupset in 1973 - a consistent further development of the Record groupset that set new standards in terms of performance, lightweight construction and exclusivity. More than 50 years later, Campagnolo continues this tradition with the Super Record 13 platform and raises it to a new level: as the fastest electronic groupset currently on the market, it not only offers the widest range of gear ratios, but also marks the beginning of a redefinition of the brand identity - developed with the aim of setting a new benchmark in the high-end segment.
Crank
A technical masterpiece with an unmistakable design language: the Super Record 13 crank attracts everyone's attention. This is ensured by the successful combination of matt aluminum aero chainring and carbon crank arms with their iconic, shiny finish. The deliberately visible carbon structure underlines the majestic elegance of the Italian set. Six chainring sizes from 42 to 52 teeth, combined with four cassette options, provide you with exactly the gear range you need for your personal road adventure. Born from the experience of the Ekar groupset, the tooth profile has been redesigned to optimize chain engagement, smooth out the drivetrain and prevent chain jumps even on bumpy trails. A new surface treatment also noticeably increases the wear resistance of the mono chainrings. Campagnolo remains true to its Ultra-Torque technology in the crankshaft system: two titanium half-shafts, firmly connected to the crankarms, mesh via Hirth splines and are securely fixed in place by a central oversize bolt. Smooth running is ensured by ceramic bearings pressed onto the shaft, which together with the QCK-Tech bearing shells provide excellent protection against water and dirt. The wide range of QCK-Tech cups and bottom brackets ensures compatibility with all current bottom bracket standards.
Cassette
The cassette with one more sprocket: Made of steel and constructed in several parts, the Super Record 13 cassette guarantees maximum durability. With 13 closely spaced gear steps and minimal sprocket jumps, it offers a first-class riding experience for all those who value an optimum cadence in every situation. Building on its experience with the Ekar gravel groupset, Campagnolo has further reduced the spacing and thickness of the sprockets. This made it possible to integrate an additional sprocket with identical cassette dimensions to the 12-speed groupset. Homogeneous gear changes enable a constant cadence and are therefore crucial for efficient riding and controlled power delivery. Instead of energy-sapping gear jumps, the pedaling remains fluid, which is a clear advantage, especially over long distances. There is a choice of four cassette ratios, two starting with a 10-tooth sprocket (10-29 and 10-33) and two with 11 teeth (11-32 and 11-36). The system thus covers a wide range of gear ratios for a wide variety of route profiles. All cassette variants are compatible with the proven Campagnolo N3W freehub body. Due to the unchanged overall width, no special freehub body is required, as the standard N3W offers enough space for 13 sprockets as well as for a smallest sprocket with only ten teeth.
Chain
The Super Record 13 chain is a central component in the precisely tuned drivetrain system and was developed to ensure maximum efficiency and shifting precision. Behind the seemingly technical simplicity lies a sophisticated design that harmonizes perfectly with the new standards of the groupset. Even under heavy loads, the chain impresses with reliable performance, as our experience with the Ekar C13 has already impressively demonstrated. With a width of just 4.9 mm, achieved through narrower link spacing and flat, perforated pins, the chain enables fast, smooth and quiet shifting while taking up little space. The use of hollow pins not only saves every superfluous gram, but also achieves the perfect balance between lightness and resilience. A finely crafted detail that remains invisible at first glance, but can be felt every meter of the way. The C-Link locking system makes it easier to open and close the chain, which significantly simplifies maintenance and care without compromising on durability or longevity. Wrapped in a deep shine, the black chrome finish not only gives the C13 an elegant, high-quality look, but also increases wear resistance and reduces noise when riding. The newly engraved logo fits seamlessly into the visual line of the Super Record 13 groupset and underlines the design consistency and attention to detail.
Rear derailleur
A rear derailleur that remains precise even when the road stops: With the rear derailleur of the Super Record 13 platform, which has been completely developed for off-road performance, shifting becomes a decisive advantage on rough roads - faster, more precise and quieter than any other road groupset. The new, compact architecture improves the aerodynamics of the rear derailleur and optimally aligns the system with the cassette sprockets so that every gear change is direct, fluid and efficient, regardless of the surface, speed or incline. At the heart of the further development is the Nano Clutch, an elegantly integrated clutch that guides the chain firmly and stably with every pedal rotation. This minimizes chain slap and prevents chain jumps even on rough trails. Despite its unusually aggressive appearance for Campagnolo, the carbon and aluminum rear derailleur blends in surprisingly harmoniously with the otherwise majestically elegant design language of the entire group. The rear derailleur has been specially developed for the 1x13-speed Road configuration and is designed for cassettes with up to 36 teeth. It works with two idler pulleys, each with 14 teeth, whose different profiles guide the chain precisely. A ceramic bearing is used in the upper pulley for particularly low-friction operation, while the lower pulley is designed with classic bearings for maximum robustness and durability. The removable battery unit supplies the completely wireless system with energy for up to 750 kilometers. If the power does run out unintentionally on the road, the rear derailleur can be moved manually to the desired position to continue the ride comfortably to the destination. The battery is charged either directly on the bike or on the go at any power source using a USB cable with a magnetically attached charging connection. The charge status can be checked at any time via the mode button on the rear derailleur or via the MyCampy app 3.0.
Shift/brake lever
In order to be able to control all 13 gears precisely from almost any grip position, Campagnolo is bringing back an iconic shifting element in the latest generation of the Ergopower shift/brake lever that evokes nostalgic emotions and makes the hearts of long-time fans of the traditional Italian brand beat faster - the thumb shifter. In addition to the new thumb shifter and the tried-and-tested operating element on the lever, the electronic control center impresses with an intelligently positioned button on the inside of the hoods, which can be freely assigned with individual functions. Before the next climb, simply change the data field page on your favorite speedometer or select a motivating song from the playlist on your smartphone - all without taking your hands off the handlebars. The MyCampy 3.0 app is used to program the desired options and the entire shifting logic for a setup that is perfectly tailored to the rider. Thanks to these technical innovations, Campagnolo manages the balancing act between tradition and modernity, guaranteeing maximum control. Anyone who covers long distances in the saddle quickly realizes how important an ergonomic contact point on the cockpit is to prevent discomfort in the hands and wrists. For this reason, Campagnolo has completely redesigned the Ergopower to meet the demands of modern cyclists in terms of comfort, function and handling. To this end, the hydraulic line has been extensively repositioned to create a large, flat contact surface that guarantees a comfortable and stable grip even over long distances. Special attention was also paid to the new design of the brake lever, which is made entirely of carbon and is shaped in such a way that the space under the hand rest is not compromised. Thanks to the optimized pivot point, the lever achieves a powerful, precise braking effect and is noticeably easier and more effective to operate from the hoods. The brake lever is specially designed for road and gravel setups with a mono chainring and consistently dispenses with anything superfluous. Compared to the Ergopower with shifting electronics, the lever body has been significantly slimmed down, which is also noticeable on the scales.
Brakes
The disc brakes of the Super Record 13 also confirm Campagnolo's reputation as a manufacturer of particularly powerful braking systems. The brake calliper is made of forged aluminum and combines maximum stability with low weight. Titanium mounting bolts are used to further reduce weight. The pre-assembled brake hose is already filled with Campagnolo mineral oil and bled. This means that the brake calliper can be fitted directly and used immediately. Organic brake pads are included in the scope of delivery. They impress with their balanced braking performance with precise modulation, constant response and particularly quiet operation. Thanks to sound-absorbing carriers, vibrations are effectively reduced even on long descents.
Note: The set is supplied without mounting bolts.
Brake disk
A riveted, two-piece construction and angled ventilation cut-outs ensure excellent heat management and unlimited braking power even under critical conditions. The Campagnolo rotors are made of durable stainless steel and have rounded edges, which minimizes the risk of injury and makes threading into the brake caliper a breeze.
Note: The set is supplied without lockrings.
