This wheel set also defies the special loads of an e-bike drive. The light and stable NONPLUS Components hubs as well as the excellently processed Duke rims also forgive a driving mistake. The balanced selection of components guarantees you high reliability and a long service life.
hubs
Since 2018, the small forge from Murr in Baden-Württemberg has been producing light yet stable bicycle hubs. New concepts are constantly being developed and patents registered so that new standards can also be set in the future.
A hub body made of high-quality, hard-anodized aluminum rotates around the elaborately sealed industrial grooved ball bearings. This has a special ventilation system that prevents the creation of negative pressure due to temperature fluctuations in the hub. As a result, no water is sucked through the ball bearings, which ensures a significantly longer service life and noticeably smooth running of the bearings.
Thanks to high-precision production and perfect quality control, the second-generation hubs do not require the bearing play adjuster previously used. This means you always have a perfectly adjusted hub with a smooth, easy run.
The unique freewheel mechanism with bevel gearing of the NONPLUS hubs has approx. 400% more contact surface than conventional systems and enables maximum power transmission with minimum wear. The forces are transmitted over a large area instead of at points. The 45 defined resting points immediately convert your acceleration into propulsion without much free travel.
rims
The rims from Duke from France stand for low weight and excellent workmanship. The hookless construction is ideal for using tubeless systems. The reinforced bead means that any punctures can be better tolerated without causing damage. The fairly flat and wide rims reliably support the tires in every situation, so you don't have a spongy driving experience even with little air pressure.
The asymmetrical shape enables more even spoke tension, which further increases the rigidity of the entire wheel.
spokes
The Race spoke is the classic from Sapim! It is a round spoke with a butted middle part with a diameter of 1.8 mm. This provides more damping than non-tapered spokes. In addition, short peak loads can be better digested. The Race spoke enables very stiff and stable wheels for practically every intended use . The weight including nipples is approx. 6.95g per piece.
Impeller construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are assembled entirely by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction, it is important that not only the concentricity is right, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifetime guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this is not caused by violence!
