This wheelset also defies the special loads of an e-bike drive. The light and stable NONPLUS Components hubs as well as the excellently processed Newmen rims forgive a driving error. The balanced selection of components guarantees you a high level of reliability and a long service life.
Hubs
The small forge from Murr in Baden-Württemberg has been manufacturing lightweight yet stable bicycle hubs since 2018. New concepts are constantly being developed and patents registered so that new standards can also be set in the future.
A hub body, made of high-quality, hard-anodized aluminum, rotates around the elaborately sealed industrial deep groove ball bearings. This has a special ventilation system, which prevents the creation of negative pressure due to temperature fluctuations in the hub. As a result, no water is sucked through the ball bearings, which ensures a significantly longer service life and noticeably easier running of the bearings.
Thanks to high-precision manufacturing and perfect quality control, the hubs of the second generation manage without the previously used adjuster for the bearing play. This means that you always have a perfectly adjusted hub with a smooth, easy run.
The unique freewheel mechanism with bevel teeth of the NONPLUS hubs has approx. 400% more contact surface than conventional systems and enables maximum power transmission with minimal wear. The forces are transmitted over a large area instead of selectively. The 45 defined rest points immediately convert your start into propulsion without much idle travel.
rims
These rims deserve the predicate unbreakable. They are the perfect basis for a stable e-bike or all-mountain wheelset.
The resistance to possible damage after punctures is 40% better than the already very solid SL A.35. Compared to rims of the same weight class, the rim flanges are much more massive and therefore more robust. Of course, they also have a completely edge-free outer contour and flared rim flanks, which give the tire a rounder shape and thus give it even more cornering grip and comfort.
The rim profile with the straight nipple contact surface is specially designed for the use of specially developed washers (MG washer) and ensures very high "spoke pull out" values with very low wall thickness in this area.
Spokes
The Race spoke is the classic from Sapim! It is a round spoke with a butted middle section of 1.8 mm in diameter. This provides more cushioning than non-tapered spokes. It also makes it easier to digest short load peaks. The Race spoke enables very stiff and stable wheels for practically every intended use . The weight including nipple is approx. 6.95g per piece.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are completely assembled by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction process, it is important that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifelong guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this was not caused by force!
