VISION wheelset 28" SC45 SL Center Lock | Shimano Micro Spline
With the SC series, Vision has succeeded in perfecting the interplay of stiffness, aerodynamics and low weight. Developed together with professional racing cyclists, all components are perfectly matched to each other. They are manufactured by hand, which guarantees high quality and durability.
The SC45 SL wheels with their large inner rim width of 23 millimetres ensure high compatibility with wide tires. Thanks to the rim height of 45 mm, the wheelset makes both fast rides on flat terrain and detours into hilly terrain a pleasure. Compared to the previous version, the SC45 SL has a newly developed hub set with P.R.S. technology (Power Ratchet System). The V-600 hubs, which are manufactured in-house, are equipped with a toothed disk freehub with 54 ratchet points. Thanks to the fine toothing and angled contact surfaces, power is applied with virtually no free travel. The hub housings are forged to ensure maximum strength, torsional rigidity and low weight. Thanks to weatherproof seals, the PRS hub is equipped for a wide range of applications and ensures consistent performance in any weather and on any surface.
The wheels are built with 21 aero bladed spokes on the front wheel and 24 spokes on the rear wheel. In order to reduce the susceptibility to punctures, the straight-pull design was chosen. This eliminates the spoke bend, which is prone to breakage. Another interesting feature is the 2:1 lacing, which increases the rigidity of the wheels.
