That is why the braking power of the PICCOLA CARBON is second to none in its class. The distance to the competition is clear. The operation of the brake lever is optimized for one-finger brakes, but a second finger as an emergency anchor still has space on the large carbon finger lever. The elaborately CNC-milled brake from the Black Forest is not only an absolute highlight visually, but also in terms of braking power and stability beyond any doubt.
The brake caliper of the legendary Cleg 2 has been completely revised, both technically and optically, and offers the best possible stiffness values with the lowest weight. Thanks to the use of carbon, the brake lever was able to elicit a few extra grams. With the pump housing weighing only 15 grams and the revised lever construction, braking power and stability remain at the usual high level and are even suitable for e-bikes. In order to be able to transmit the higher braking force in a metered manner, the brake levers have 4 ball bearings and are provided with Teflon seals, which makes operation extremely easy. An extremely short piston made of resistant and low-friction IGUS J material enables slip stick free metering with high pressure stability.
The special type of handlebar clamping enables an extremely large contact area that encloses the handlebars almost 360 ° and does not pass on any notch or point loads on the handlebars. This predestines the PICCOLA for sensitive carbon handlebars that should be clamped as gently and over a large area.
In conjunction with the short-lever statics of the PICCOLA housing, bending of the brake lever is prevented even under strong lever pull. This stiffens the pressure point and the braking feel even more directly.
Note:
Due to its compact design, the Piccola Carbon is not suitable for use with SRAM grip-shift systems!
