STYRKR [stir-kuh] means strength in Old Norse. The company has its roots in England and has been the passion project of Christian Sanderson since 2018. The idea arose from a personal need for a functional product for endurance sports. Christian, himself a cyclist, was unable to find a suitable product that would provide reliable energy, be well tolerated and also work during prolonged exercise. He then worked with professional sports nutritionists to develop products with a clear focus on helping everyday athletes achieve their next endurance goal. They also focus on natural ingredients.

All Styrkr GEL and MIX products are based on the Plasma Tech process. During intense physical activity, carbohydrates are the body's main source of energy. When they come from multiple sources, more carbohydrates can be absorbed per hour. Therefore, the gels and drink mixes contain two transportable carbohydrates, maltodextrin and fructose (in a ratio of 1:08). This improves the exogenous carbohydrate oxidation rate and causes less intestinal discomfort. The gels have a new, improved natural taste and provide 50g of carbohydrates for maximum energy.
