Evolution instead of revolution - the new Red AXS groupset has been revised in all areas to offer you improved ergonomics, better shifting performance and a wider range of gear ratios. In addition, SRAM has managed to reduce the weight of almost all components in order to conquer the throne of the lightest electronic groupset. You can personalize your Red groupset even more via the proven SRAM AXS app.
AXS HRD shift-brake systemWith the new AXS HRD shift-brake system, SRAM has made the biggest leap in development among the new Red components. Both the shape of the hoods and the carbon brake lever have been redesigned. In addition to improved ergonomics for a wider range of hand sizes, the redesigned brake levers offer significantly better power transmission from all handlebar positions. Thanks in part to a modified pivot point and the relocation of the primary piston to the shifter body, the brakes can be applied with just one finger both in the lower handlebars and in the hoods. Another highlight is the additional shift button integrated into the hoods, which can also be used to operate ANT+-compatible bike computers. The textured main shift paddles work according to the proven eTap shift logic. One rocker switch for upshifting and one rocker switch for downshifting. If both paddles are operated simultaneously, the front derailleur is shifted. The shifting behaviour can be personalized via the SRAM AXS app and additional SRAM Wireless Blip Shifters can also be integrated. The lever width can of course be adjusted using an easy-to-reach hexagon socket screw. Independently of this, the pressure point on the lever can also be adjusted to prevent contact between the lever and handlebars.
The brake callipers, which have also been redesigned, are not only stiffer but also significantly lighter. The pad gap has been widened for easy installation and friction-free operation. Bleeding Edge technology ensures simple and clean bleeding.
Thanks to the slim design, SRAM was able to save an impressive 83 grams of weight on the Red HRD shift-brake system compared to the previous version.
Rear derailleurThe new Red AXS rear derailleur has become even lighter and more efficient. Compared to the previous version, the engineers at SRAM were able to save 16 grams. Larger derailleur pulleys with ceramic bearings and X-Sync tooth profile ensure even more efficient chain operation. The speed-dependent Orbit-Fluid vibration damping ensures reliable chain guidance, even in off-road use. You can easily configure and fine-tune the rear derailleur using your smartphone via the SRAM AXS app. An ANT+ transmitter integrated in the rear derailleur enables communication between your bike computer and the rear derailleur.This allows you to display information on the battery charge status and your current gear ratio in your cockpit.
Front derailleurThe Red AXS front derailleur ensures fast and precise shifting in all conditions. In addition to a revised derailleur cage, another new feature is compatibility with all SRAM X-Range 2x chainrings from 46-33 to 56-43 teeth. Equipped with the proven SRAM Yaw technology and with Auto Trim function, chain slippage is eliminated in all gear combinations. With the integration of AXS technology, the shifting behaviour of the front derailleur can be personalized via the associated app. The newly developed setup tool makes it easy to adjust the derailleur position.
Powermeter crankThe previous version was already one of the lightest cranks on the market. Thanks to an optimized layer construction of the hollow carbon crank arms, the engineers were able to reduce the weight of the 2024 version by another 29 grams. The proven X-Range gear ratios with 13 teeth between the large and small chainrings enable clean and crisp shifting without having to counter-shift several gears on the rear derailleur. The one-piece construction of the chainrings reduces weight and ensures high rigidity. The teeth are specially coated for a particularly long service life. The crankshaft was developed for the new DUB Road bottom bracket standard for a wide range of crank applications. The crankshaft is compatible with all standard bottom bracket housings via the corresponding DUB bottom bracket. With the AXS power meter integrated in the chainrings, you have the perfect tool to effectively control your training.

ChainThe new SRAM Red chain has been redesigned from the ground up with a unique flattop plate design that makes the chain narrower and lighter. The resulting greater distance between the outer plates and the sprockets ensures smoother chain running and even more precise shifting. As a positive side effect, the service life of the chain is also increased. This is additionally ensured by a chrome coating on the inside of the plates and the rollers.
CassetteWide range or small gear jumps? The SRAM Red cassettes offer you both. With their X-dome design and milling from a single block, they are also among the lightest cassettes on the market. In contrast to other lightweight cassettes, only the largest sprocket of the Red cassettes is made of aluminum, while the sprocket block is made of durable steel. For fast and clean shifting, they have shifting ramps that have been specially optimized for the electronic SRAM AXS rear derailleurs. SRAM's tried-and-tested 10-tooth sprocket is one of the reasons for the wide range. In addition to the 10-28 and 10-33-tooth versions, there are now also Red-based cassettes with 10-30 and 10-36 teeth.
Paceline X brake rotorsThe Paceline X brake rotor combines the proven, smooth-running friction ring of the Paceline brake rotor with the lightest aluminum spider that SRAM has ever produced. Optimized for road use, the design with its ventilation holes offers smooth, low-vibration braking performance. The rounded edges on the top of the disc minimize the risk of injury and comply with the guidelines of the UCI. A further advantage is that they make it easier to install the wheel, as the rounded top prevents jamming in the brake calliper.
Charger/batteriesThe integrated batteries on the rear derailleur and front derailleur have a range of over 1000 kilometers. The charge status can be read at any time via LED lights. The batteries for the rear derailleur and front derailleur are identical and can therefore be replaced on the move. The batteries are recharged within an hour using the charger supplied.
