Cyclocross, triathlon or individual time trials - some disciplines are predestined for the use of a single drive. For this intended use , SRAM has developed the new Red 1 and Force 1 cranks . In connection with the increased bandwidth of the Red 12-speed cassettes, a 1-speed drive is also sufficient on a racing bike in many cases.
In addition to the weight savings due to the elimination of the derailleur, a 1-way drive is also less prone to failure and more intuitive to shift compared to a 2-way system. The SRAM X-Sync tooth profile with alternating thick and thin teeth (narrow-wide), tried and tested in the MTB sector, ensures that the chain sits securely on the chainring. With the Quarq power meter integrated in the chainring, you have the perfect tool to control your training effectively.
