SRAM NX Eagle DUB MTB groupset 1x12 | BOOST
With the NX Eagle, SRAM presents a reasonably priced entry to its carefree 12-speed drivetrains. The gear range of 455% covers all areas of use, from flat terrain to high mountains, without having to accept the additional weight and poorer shifting performance of a front derailleur. Thanks to the robust cassette, the NX Eagle is the only E-bike compatible 12-speed groupset.
Crank
Now that the Eagle components have established themselves on the market, the Americans from SRAM are coming up with the next big coup in 2018 to further optimize mountain bike drivetrains. The DUB technology not only simplifies the combination of crankshaft and bottom bracket, it also ensures greater durability of the bottom bracket. SRAM DUB cranks have a uniform shaft diameter of 28.99 millimetres. Thanks to different variants of the completely redesigned and better sealed DUB bottom bracket, the cranks are compatible with all standard bottom bracket housings. The aluminum crankshafts have also been redesigned, reducing the weight of the DUB cranksets compared to their predecessors.
Made from 6000 aluminum, the NX Eagle DUB crank arms can also withstand occasional impacts and stone chips. The crank is complemented by an X-Sync 2 Direct Mount chainring. Compared to its 11-speed predecessor, this impresses with significantly smoother chain movement and better self-cleaning in muddy conditions. With the proven alternating thick-thin tooth profile, which is matched to the SRAM Eagle chains, it always keeps the chain securely in place. Made of steel, the chainring has an extremely long service life and is predestined for e-bike drives thanks to its robustness.
The BOOST version has a chain line that is offset 3 millimetres outwards to compensate for the cassette being offset further outwards when BOOST hubs are used on the rear wheel.
Cassette
Whether pedal-heavy descents or the steepest ramps, the PG-1230 cassette with 11-50 teeth provides you with the right gears for any terrain. The SRAM Powerglide tooth profiles and climbing aids ensure smooth and precise shifting at all times.
Chain
The NX Eagle chain was specially developed for the requirements of the 12-speed drivetrain. The full-pin design makes the chain extremely robust and durable. The revised PowerLock chain lock has a longer service life and is even easier to handle.
Rear derailleur
With its single-speed specific X-Horizon design, the NX Eagle rear derailleur adopts numerous technologies from the XX1 Eagle top group. The large offset of the upper derailleur pulley ensures a constant chain distance and guarantees precise shifting. A lower derailleur pulley with 14 teeth ensures smooth and low-resistance running of the chain.The smoother chain run is supported by the optimized Type 3.0 cage damping, which effectively prevents the chain from slapping in rough terrain.The extremely high tension of the derailleur cage and X-Sync derailleur pulleys matched to the chain prevent the chain from jumping off even on the roughest trails.
NX Trigger Shifter
The NX Eagle Trigger is the control center of the shifting group, requiring only the thumb of the right hand to pass on the shifting commands. So you can concentrate on the essentials on the trail: The new 12-speed shifting mechanism of the Trigger ensures smooth and precise shifting and has a very high durability. Its Exact Actuation technology ensures even and smooth gear changes across the entire ratio range. The NX Eagle Shifter can be mounted with the SRAM Matchmaker or Matchmaker X for a tidy cockpit and optimum ergonomics.
NX-E Single Click Trigger Shifter
The NX-E Eagle Single Click Shifter has been specially designed for use on E-MTBs. To extend the service life of the chain and cassette and prevent defects, the trigger only allows single gear jumps. This ensures clean shifting at all times and prevents unintentional over-shifting on rough trails. Its Exact Actuation technology ensures smooth and even gear changes across the entire ratio range.
Twister Shifter
30 years ago, SRAM engineers asked themselves how they could make the shifting process even easier and more intuitive. The result was the first Grip Shift twist shifter. The Eagle 12-speed Twister is based on the same functional principle and is equipped with a robust inner workings to ensure precise shifting performance over the long term. The integrated lock-on grip can be hooked into the shifter and also has a lockring on the outside. This means that the grip sits firmly on the handlebars.
Bottom bracket
The DUB bottom brackets have an improved seal to ensure that the cranks run silky smooth for even longer. They are available in versions for frames with PF30, BB89.5/92, BSA and BB30 bottom bracket housings.
