SRAM Mullet Apex AXS Wide GX Eagle Gravel groupset 1x12
Electronic wireless shifting at a low price: With the Apex AXS, SRAM offers a reliable and easy-to-use 1x12 groupset with a wide range of ratios for a variety of bikes. With the Apex Eagle version (Mullet) for cassettes with up to 52 teeth, even the steepest ramps are no longer a problem. For the more ambitious biker, the matching Apex Quarq power meter crank arm is available. With the proven AXS standard, you can adapt the shifting behavior to your needs and integrate AXS components from other groupsets or additional shifters into your setup.
Rear derailleurIn contrast to the high-end XX1 AXS rear derailleur, the cage of the GX Eagle AXS rear derailleur is made of steel instead of carbon. This reduces the price and makes the rear derailleur even more robust on the trail. In return, you have to accept an additional weight of almost 100 grams compared to the top version. The tried-and-tested overload clutch provides better protection for the rear derailleur in the event of a fall. It briefly decouples the rear derailleur under extreme loads so that it can avoid the load and the electric motor is protected from damage. However, the rear derailleur immediately jumps back into the engaged gear. As a positive side effect, the rear derailleur suspension and the derailleur hanger are also better protected in the event of a fall. The Roller Bearing Clutch 3.0 vibration damper in combination with the X-Sync 2 tooth profiles of the derailleur pulleys guarantees safe chain movement
CrankWith its 47.5 millimeter chainline, the Apex Wide crank also offers sufficient tire clearance for 2.1 inch wide tires. The Wide crank is even suitable for use on MTBs with the corresponding DUB bottom bracket. The crank is supplied with an aluminium direct mount chainring with 40 teeth. The SRAM X-Sync tooth profile with alternating thick and thin teeth (narrow-wide), proven in the MTB sector, ensures a secure fit of the chain on the chainring. The black aluminum crank arms with white Apex logo are available in lengths from 160 to 175 millimeters. The crankshaft is compatible with all standard bottom bracket housings via the corresponding DUB Wide bottom bracket.
Shift brake lever / HydroHC Hydraulic-Road-Disc (HRD) brakesThe slim design of the grip body, adopted from the SRAM Rival AXS groupset, provides an even better grip thanks to a larger hand wrap, especially for small hands. The textured shift paddles and grip rubbers provide even more control and comfort. The grip width adjustment on the brake lever ensures the best possible ergonomics. With the integration of the Apex shifters into the AXS platform, you can use the associated smartphone app to adapt the shifting to your personal preferences, evaluate your shifting behaviour or carry out firmware updates. Ports for additional shifters (blips) are not available. However, the shifters can be paired with up to 3 pairs of SRAM wireless blip shifters. The two-piece brake caliper based on the award-winning HydroHC platform is beyond reproach in terms of braking performance and heat management.
Paceline brake discsThe new Paceline brake rotors take up the elegant design of the eTap AXS Road groupsets. They have a redesigned braking surface with equally redesigned ventilation holes for even smoother and lower-vibration braking performance. The rounded edges on the top of the rotor minimize the risk of injury and comply with the guidelines of the UCI cycling world federation. A further advantage is that they make it easier to install the wheel, as the rounded top prevents jamming in the brake calliper.
CassetteWhether pedal-heavy descents or the steepest ramps, the PG-1230 cassette with 11-50 teeth and thus a bandwidth of 455% provides you with the right gears for any terrain. The SRAM Powerglide tooth profiles and climbing aids ensure smooth and precise shifting at all times. The cassette can be mounted on any Shimano/SRAM MTB freehub body or with a 1.85 millimeter spacer ring also on Shimano 11-/12-speed Road freehub bodies.
ChainThe NX Eagle chain was specially developed for the requirements of the 12-speed drivetrain. The full-pin design makes the chain extremely robust and durable. The revised PowerLock chain lock has a longer service life and is even easier to handle.
Charger/batteriesThe integrated battery on the rear derailleur has a range of over 1000 kilometers. The charge status can be read at any time via an LED light. The batteries are recharged within an hour using the charger supplied.
