SRAM Force eTap AXS Wide Road Disc HRD Flat Mount Road bike groupset Iridescent 2x12 | 43-30 teeth
Visually discreet, with a touch of shine - the new Force groupset manages this balancing act with its Iridescent look. Technically, the groupset builds on the previous generation, with some upgrades from the RED top-of-the-range groupset and new technologies. What has remained the same is the great versatility and adaptability of the Force groupset. From the 1x XPLR setup for gravel bikes to the thoroughbred road bike with 2x drivetrain, the Force offers many well thought-out transmission variants. For efficient training, there is a suitable Quarq power meter upgrade for every crank version. With the proven AXS standard, you can adapt the shifting behavior to your needs and integrate AXS components from other groupsets or additional shifters into your setup.
CrankThe DUB Wide 2x crank with a 43-30 tooth ratio has been specially developed for gravel bikes. The DUB Wide crankshaft is 5 millimetres wider than the standard crankshaft, resulting in a chainline that is 2.5 millimetres further out and therefore more tire clearance (up to 700x45c or 27.5x2.1").The chainrings with 43-30 teeth are attached to a spider with a 4-arm bolt circle. The small jump of 13 teeth between the chainrings ensures crisp and precise shifting. In combination with the X-Range 12-speed cassettes with high bandwidth, you can stay on the large chainring for longer and therefore have to shift less frequently with the derailleur.
The carbon crank arms combine low weight and high stiffness. Equipped with the proven DUB crankshaft, the Force crank is compatible with all standard bottom bracket shells with the matching DUB bottom bracket.
Shift brake lever / HydroHC Hydraulic-Road-Disc (HRD) brakesSmall changes can make a big difference. Introduced with the Rival AXS groupset, the Force shift brake levers have also been given a flatter and slimmer design. The new design offers even more control, especially for small hands, thanks to a larger hand wrap. In contrast to the Rival shifters, the Force version is equipped with lighter carbon brake levers, while the textured shift paddles and rubber grips provide even more control and comfort. The integration of the Force shifters into the AXS platform offers you the option of adapting the shifters to your personal preferences, evaluating your shifting behaviour or carrying out firmware updates via the associated smartphone app. In addition to the freely selectable assignment of the shift buttons, the shifters can also be operated in semi-automatic mode, in which the rear derailleur and front derailleur synchronize independently and you only have to choose between a lighter and heavier gear. Ports for additional shifters (blips) are no longer available. Instead, the shifters can be coupled with up to 3 pairs of SRAM wireless blip shifters. The two-piece brake caliper based on the award-winning HydroHC platform is beyond reproach in terms of braking performance and heat management.
Paceline brake discsThe new Paceline brake rotors take up the elegant design of the eTap AXS Road groupsets. They have a redesigned braking surface with equally redesigned ventilation holes for even smoother and lower-vibration braking performance. The rounded edges on the top of the rotor minimize the risk of injury and comply with the guidelines of the UCI cycling world federation. A further advantage is that they make it easier to install the wheel, as the rounded top prevents jamming in the brake calliper.
Front derailleurThe SRAM Force AXS front derailleur has been developed for the 2x X-Range chainring gradations with a 13-tooth gap between the large and small chainrings. Equipped with the proven SRAM Yaw technology, it is no longer necessary to trim the front derailleur. The power is automatically regulated over the entire shifting range when shifting with an AXS shifter. The electronic wireless eTap shifting logic ensures intuitive shifting and simple, wireless setup. In combination with SRAM DUB Road Wide cranks, the Wide front derailleur offers extra tire clearance on gravel bikes (up to 700x45c or 27.5x2.1").
Rear derailleur | 36TThe Force AXS rear derailleur ensures fast and precise shifting. The integrated Orbit-Fluid vibration damping ensures safe and smooth chain movement on any terrain. Its speed-dependent damping is only activated in the event of rapid vibrations and remains inactive when the rear derailleur moves during shifting operations. The chain guide is supported by derailleur pulleys with SRAM X-Sync (Narrow-Wide) tooth profiles. An ANT+ transmitter integrated in the rear derailleur enables communication between your bike computer and the rear derailleur. This allows you to display information on the battery charge status and the current gear in your cockpit. With the integration of AXS technology, you can personalize the shifting behaviour in the associated app.The medium-length rear derailleur cage is compatible with cassettes from 10-28 teeth to 10-36 teeth and can be used on a wide range of 1x and 2x bike setups.
CassetteProven in the mountain bike sector for years, the 10-tooth cassette is now also finding its way onto road bikes. This is made possible by the SRAM XDR freewheel standard. The advantages are obvious: the cassette can be made even lighter with the same bandwidth. Compared to the previous version, the shifting lanes have been further optimized and adapted to the electronic eTap AXS rear derailleur. The result is even faster and smoother shifting. The sprockets are made of tool steel and are connected to each other via pins using the SRAM mini-cluster design. For further weight optimization, the largest sprocket is made of aluminium
ChainThe new SRAM Force chain has been redesigned from the ground up, with a unique flattop plate design that makes the chain narrower and lighter. The resulting greater distance between the outer plates and the sprockets ensures smoother chain running and even more precise shifting. As a positive side effect, the service life of the chain is also increased. This is additionally ensured by a chrome coating on the inside of the plates and the rollers.
Charger/batteriesThe integrated battery on the rear derailleur has a range of over 1000 kilometers. The charge status can be read at any time via an LED light. The batteries are recharged within an hour using the charger supplied.
