Description
SRAM Force eTap AXS Road Disc HRD Flat Mount road bike groupset Iridescent 2x12 | 46-33 teeth
Visually unobtrusive, with a touch of shine - the new Force group with its iridescent look manages this balancing act. Technically, the group builds on the previous generation, with some upgrades from the RED top group and new technologies. The great versatility and adaptability of the Force group has remained the same. From the 1x XPLR setup for gravel bikes to the thoroughbred racing bike with 2x drive, the Force offers many well thought-out gear ratios. For efficient training, there is a suitable Quarq power meter upgrade for every crank version. With the proven AXS standard, you can adapt the shifting behavior to your needs and integrate AXS components from other groupsets or additional shifters into your setup.
Crank
Introduced with the RED-AXS group, the Force 2x chainrings now also have an integrated design that does not require an additional spider and is screwed onto the 8-bolt direct mount of the crank. The design brings more rigidity to the chainrings and is also lighter than the spider version. The small 13-tooth jumps between the chainrings ensure crisp and precise shifting. In combination with the X-Range 12-speed cassettes with high bandwidth, you can stay longer on the big blade and therefore have to shift with the front derailleur less often. Thanks to a unique manufacturing technology, the chainrings have outstanding durability.
The carbon crank arms combine low weight and high rigidity. Equipped with the proven DUB crankshaft, the Force crank is compatible with all common bottom bracket shells with the appropriate DUB bottom bracket.
Shift-brake lever / HydroHC Hydraulic Road Disc (HRD) brakes
Small changes can make a big difference. Introduced with the Rival AXS group, the Force shift-brake levers also get a flatter and slimmer design. The new design brings even more control, especially for small hands, thanks to a larger hand wrap. In contrast to the Rival shifters, the Force variant is equipped with lighter carbon brake levers. The textured shift paddles and rubber grips provide even more control and comfort. The reach adjustment on the brake lever ensures the best possible ergonomics. The integration of the Force-Shifter into the AXS platform gives you the option of adapting the shifting to your personal preferences, evaluating your shifting behavior or updating the firmware via the associated smartphone app. In addition to the freely selectable assignment of the shift buttons, the shift can also be operated in semi-automatic mode, in which the rear derailleur and front derailleur synchronize themselves and you only have to choose between an easier and heavier gear. Ports for additional switches (blips) are no longer available. The shifters can be coupled with up to 3 pairs of SRAM wireless blip shifters. Based on the award-winning HydroHC platform, the two-piece caliper is beyond any doubt when it comes to braking performance and heat management.
Paceline brake discs
The new Paceline brake discs pick up on the elegant design of the eTap AXS Road groupsets. They have a newly designed braking surface with also newly designed ventilation holes for an even more even and low-vibration braking performance. The rounded edges on the top of the disc minimize the risk of injury and comply with the guidelines of the World Cycling Union UCI. Another advantage is that they make it easier to install the wheel, because the rounded top prevents tilting in the brake caliper.
Cassette
Proven in the mountain bike sector for years, the 10 sprocket is now also being used on racing bikes. This is made possible by the SRAM XDR freehub standard. The advantages are obvious: with the same bandwidth, the cassette can be made even lighter. Compared to the previous version, the shift gates have been further optimized and matched to the electronic eTap AXS rear derailleur. The result is even faster and smoother shifting. The sprockets made of tool steel are connected to each other with the SRAM mini-cluster design via pins. The largest sprocket is made of aluminum to further optimize the weight
Chain
The new SRAM Force chain has been redesigned from the ground up. The unique flat top shape of the lugs made it possible to make the chain narrower and lighter. The resulting larger distance between the outer plates and the sprockets ensures smoother chain movement and even more precise shifting. As a positive side effect, the service life of the chain also increases. This is also ensured by a chrome coating on the inside of the tabs and the rollers.
Charger/Battery
The integrated battery on the rear derailleur has a range of over 1000 kilometers. The charge status can be read at any time via an LED light. With the included charger, the batteries are recharged within an hour.
