SRAM Apex XPLR Wide Disc HRD Flat Mount Gravel groupset 1x12
You don't want electronics on your bike, but don't want to do without the advantages of a modern 1x12 drivetrain? With the mechanical Apex drivetrain components, SRAM offers you the right alternative. With its ease of use, high reliability and wide range of gear ratios, the mechanical Apex groupset is suitable for a wide variety of bikes. In addition to the XPLR version with an 11-44 tooth cassette, there is also the Apex Eagle version for cassettes with up to 52 teeth. For the more ambitious biker, there is also the matching Apex Quarq power meter crank arm to choose from.
CrankWith its chainline of 47.5 millimetres, the Apex Wide crank also offers sufficient tire clearance for 2.1 inch wide tires. The Wide crank is even suitable for use on MTBs with the corresponding DUB bottom bracket. The crank is supplied with an aluminium direct mount chainring with 40 teeth. The SRAM X-Sync tooth profile with alternating thick and thin teeth (narrow-wide), proven in the MTB sector, ensures a secure fit of the chain on the chainring. The black aluminum crank arms with white Apex logo are available in lengths from 160 to 175 millimeters. The crankshaft is compatible with all standard bottom bracket housings via the corresponding DUB Wide bottom bracket. With the SRAM Apex Quarq AXS Powermeter Kit available in our store, the crank can be upgraded to a power measurement system.
Shift brake lever / HydroHC Hydraulic-Road-Disc (HRD) brakesFor the mechanical Apex groupset, SRAM has upgraded the proven double-tap shifting principle for 12-speed drivetrains. The slim design of the shift/brake lever is based on the current AXS shifters and enables a larger hand wrap. The grip width adjustment on the brake lever ensures the best possible ergonomics. The profiled rubber grips offer you full control and a comfortable hand position in all conditions. The two-piece brake calliper based on the award-winning HydroHC platform is beyond reproach in terms of braking performance and heat management.
Paceline brake discsThe new Paceline brake rotors take up the elegant design of the eTap AXS Road groupsets. They have a redesigned braking surface with equally redesigned ventilation holes for even smoother and lower-vibration braking performance. The rounded edges on the top of the rotor minimize the risk of injury and comply with the guidelines of the UCI cycling world federation. Another advantage is that they make it easier to install the wheel, as the rounded top prevents jamming in the brake calliper.
XPLR rear derailleur | 44TThe Apex rear derailleur has been developed for SRAM XPLR 12-speed cassettes with 10-44 and 11-44 teeth. Numerous proven technologies from the SRAM product range have been incorporated into the development for high shifting precision and optimum chain guidance. For example, the rear derailleur has a vibration damping system that controls the chain tension during shifting operations and in the event of vibrations. The X-Horizon parallelogram, originally developed for mountain bikes, limits horizontal rear derailleur vibrations and thus eliminates ghost shifting. It also reduces shifting forces on the cockpit. The integrated cage lock ensures easy wheel changes. The rear derailleur is compatible with SRAM Flattop chains and can be shifted with a mechanical Apex shift/brake lever as well as with SRAM Eagle trigger shifters.
CassetteWith a gear range of 400%, the XPLR XG-1231 cassette covers a wide range of applications. Its progressive sprocket gradation ensures that the jumps between the sprockets are as small as possible in the high speed range and larger in the slower gears. In contrast to the high-quality XPLR cassettes, the XG-1231 dispenses with the 10th sprocket and is therefore compatible with Shimano Road freehub bodies (not SRAM XDR). The cassette can be used with all SRAM XPLR rear derailleurs and SRAM Flattop 12-speed chains.
ChainIntroduced with the SRAM RED and Force eTap AXS groupsets, the Apex chain is also based on the elegant and innovative Flattop design. The shape of the plates allows the chain to be made narrower and lighter. The resulting greater distance between the outer plates and the sprockets leads to smoother chain running and more precise shifting. As a positive side effect, the service life of the chain is also increased. The Apex chain is made of polished steel with a gray finish and is supplied with the matching Powerlock chain lock.
