The principle of the Swisstrailbell is not new, as such bells used to be mounted on sledges in mountain regions to warn hikers of approaching sledges in winter. This worked very well and was transferred to cycling. On mountain trails in particular, mountain bikers often share the paths with hikers. The unique sound of the bell is not typically associated directly with cycling. Nevertheless, hikers know the sound of cows and can react. They are not caught off guard, which creates a positive image for bikers on the trail.
Each bell is made by hand and is unique. The bell body comes from a craftsman's workshop in Thuringia (Germany), the straps are made in Zurich in Switzerland. Mounting the Swisstrailbell is as simple as it is ingenious, whether on a mountain bike, gravel bike, road bike or city bike. The elegant piece is attached to the handlebars in seconds and ready for use. The special fastening strap ensures that the handlebars are not scratched and the integrated magnet fixes the bell if necessary so that the bell is quiet.
