Anyone who has ever needed a new derailleur hanger will know the hassle and the annoying search for the right piece. To avoid this annoying search, Sram launched the UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) a few years ago. This was done with ulterior motives in order to cleverly prepare frame manufacturers for their new derailleurs, which no longer require a derailleur hanger. But everyone who rides a frame with a UDH mount can still benefit. Even if the preferred groupset comes from Shimano.
In this case, the derailleur hanger is for a Shimano Direct Mount rear derailleur. ATTENTION, there are also direct mount rear derailleurs from Shimano with a connecting piece (B-link), this B-link is not required for this derailleur hanger. This version from Silca, which is made of titanium and manufactured using a 3D printing process, is also up to 12x stiffer than a conventional rear derailleur and 4-10g lighter. The increased stiffness not only improves the shifting performance of mechanical shifters, but also benefits electronic shifters even more. Should a fall or collision be too violent, the derailleur hanger breaks at a defined point to protect the frame.
