SHIMANO XTR cassette 11-speed CS-M9001 11-40 teeth
Shimano is carrying out evolution, well thought out and optimized down to the smallest detail.
What Shimano doesn't do is make the mistakes of the competition, whose "revolutions" often have a bitter aftertaste.
As usual, the new XTR HG-X11 cassette impresses with excellent shifting performance, low weight and high wear resistance. In line with "Rhythm and Range", the gear steps have become smaller and more even and the range has increased.
With this cassette, Shimano engineers have made it possible to switch to 11-speed without having to replace the freehub body or even the entire rear wheel. Existing 10-speed wheels can simply be fitted with the new cassette.
If a sprocket is worn or damaged due to a fall, it can be replaced without having to buy a new cassette.
Gear changes are extremely precise, quiet and efficient, so that shifting pauses are very short.
An intelligent material mix of aluminium, steel, titanium and fibre composite increases durability and maximizes rigidity, while at the same time reducing the weight of the cassette.
The base body is divided into four sections, two of which are made of aluminum and two of fiber composite material.
The largest sprocket is made of aluminum, the next 6 largest are made of titanium and the 4 smallest are made of steel. This underlines the high demands placed on the lightweight construction and durability of the cassette.
The resulting even wear of the individual sprockets also extends the service life of the chain.
