SHIMANO distributor Di2 Junction A | SM-EW90 internal | external
This distributor takes the leads of the shifters and bundles them in a cable going to the battery.
There are two versions:
- SM-EW90A has 3 ports and connects the shifters to the distributor Junction B.
- SM-EW90B or SM-EW90F has 5 ports and connects shift lever, junction B via cable and the
Bike computer SC-R770 via radio
SM-EW90A
The three inputs are used to connect the STIs to the junction B distributor. Since the brake/shift levers each have 3 separate inputs, a total of 4 additional switch buttons can be connected in addition to the STIs. For example, a shift button can be positioned on the upper and lower links.
SM-EW90B / SM-EW90F
With a total of 5 inputs, all 8 or 4 switching components on each side of the Di2 groups can be connected:
- Brake/shift lever (STI)
- Lower link shift knob
- Top link shift knob
- Time trial shifter or time trial brake/shift lever
At the same time, the Junction A unit can still be connected to the bike computer via ANT+ radio with the Shimano computer SC-R770. This then provides an overview of important data such as battery status, engaged gear and can be coupled with other ANT + devices.
However, the cycling computer is not required to use the SM-EW90B / SM-EW90F units. The full assembly with 8 switching components is also optional!

Note: The designation SM-EW90B is listed as SM-EW90F in many technical documents from Shimano. However, the product has been revised and is now listed as SM-EW90B! Both devices are fully compatible with each other and with the components of the Dura Ace Di2 9070 group!
