The design of the lightweight Shimano BL-MT401 brake levers was inspired by the expensive models, which can also be operated with two fingers to achieve full braking power. This means you still have a firm grip on the handlebars and full control of the bike. Of course, the grip width can be adjusted so that every biker can find their own individual setup.
The brake callipers implement the commands from the lever immediately and without delay. Thanks to their good response behavior, precise and controlled stopping is possible at all times. Despite their filigree appearance, they have a high level of rigidity and therefore do not give away any braking power. The 4-piston BR-MT420 brake caliper on the front wheel in particular leaves nothing to be desired and packs a punch, while the smaller MT410 version at the rear is sufficient to keep you safely on track. The resin brake pads guarantee low noise levels and a long service life.
Shimano has also thought about ease of maintenance, with one-way bleeding technology making bleeding very easy and feasible for anyone with a little manual skill.
