You can already feel the high quality of Scope in the Sport series. These were also developed in the Netherlands, are hand-built and ideal for daily use or for your training laps. Their wheels also offer excellent value for money.
The S4 is the ideal all-rounder which, thanks to its high lateral stiffness, good aerodynamics and yet low weight, will give you many advantages when setting the pace on the flat as well as on hilly terrain.
Hubs
At the center of each wheel are Scope's own S-hubs. Their simple, straightforward and therefore elegant design blends perfectly into the overall picture. The hub body is milled from aluminium and has a first-class finish. The axle runs on very high-quality SKF ball bearings, which are made of specially hardened and tempered steel and therefore have very low rolling resistance. In order to maintain full performance even under the most adverse conditions, special attention was also paid to reliable sealing.
The rear wheel is driven by a tried and tested pawl freewheel system. Three wide pawls engage in the ratchets at the same time and guarantee the best function. They also produce a great, not too intrusive sound.
Rims
In addition to the hubs, the rims are another important component of a wheel. These in particular have a significant influence on weight and agility. Of course, the makers at Scope have left nothing to chance here either. Carbon was chosen as the standard material. This is light, stiff and very robust if processed correctly.
The low weight of the rim is due not only to the use of high-quality fibers, but also to the intelligent layer structure. On the inside of the rim, for example, not the entire area has been reinforced, but only locally around the spoke holes. Although this increases the manufacturing effort, it guarantees high strength and rigidity and a lightweight rim.
It goes without saying that the wheelset is tubeless-compatible. Matching valves and rim strips are already fitted so that you can benefit from the advantages of this system immediately. In addition, the rim flange with hooks ensures a secure fit of the tires, especially when high air pressures are used with inner tubes.
Spokes
Scope has left nothing to chance with the spokes either. The tried and tested Sapim CX leaders are used. These are strong enough for durable wheels, but also have enough flexibility to absorb harder impacts. In addition, the flattened center section ensures excellent aerodynamics, while the elimination of the highly stressed spoke bend eliminates a potential breaking point and thus further minimizes puncture susceptibility.
All these features allow Scope to release their wheels without weight restrictions. This is an absolute novelty in this price class and testifies to the high quality of workmanship.
Warranty and crash replacement
The makers of Scope have absolute confidence in their S products and grant the original purchaser a 3-year warranty on all material and manufacturing defects.
