SCHWALBE Tire Romy Gravity Pro 29 x 2.50 | SOFT RADIAL TLR | black
With the year 2026, Schwalbe is turning its MTB range upside down: design, designation, technology and reducing the portfolio to the essentials was Schwalbe's motivation.
Thanks to the new clarity in the designation, more clarity has been created. Schwalbe-Line or Pro-Line is the first question you will ask yourself. What version do you need, do you need the racing tire (Pro-Line) or the more durable price-performance model (Schwalbe-Line).
The designations for the tire constructions have also been renamed to make them easier to understand. Gravity, Trail and Race are the new names.
The Romy tire celebrates its premiere. As the successor to the Hans and partly to the Nic, the Romy follows in large tire tracks.
The completely revised tread pattern has become somewhat more aggressive, primarily on the sides of the tire. The massive lugs on the edge of the tire, which ensure cornering grip, are more massive and every third lug is slightly offset, so the tire keeps you in line when cornering. The center lugs, on the other hand, have been modified to increase the rolling characteristics. Uphill and on straight stretches, you are therefore very efficient on the road and downhill you can let it rip.
RADIAL
The carcass threads, which run diagonally across the tire at a 45° angle in normal bicycle tires, are arranged at a much more obtuse angle in radial tires. The technology, which was developed in the Downhill World Cup, turns the MTB world on its head. Primarily, the arrangement ensures that the carcass material overlaps shorter and with less tension. As a result, the tire deforms more selectively and can react much more flexibly and adaptably to bumps without sacrificing the safety factor. With the same air pressure, radial tires offer 30 percent more contact area than conventional tires. The result is more grip, more cushioning and more comfort.
SOFT
The compound strikes a good balance between speed and damping and is perfect for hardcore enduro, gravity and downhill use. Thanks to the improved compound, it can also be used optimally in cold conditions. SOFT replaces the previous Addix Soft.
Gravity PRO
The carcass for the toughest use is the Gravity construction. Under the motto, "Twice as much is twice as good!", the double-layer 67EPI ply can cope with the roughest surfaces.
